Stepping into the workshop of GPC Green Environmental Protection Industry Co., Ltd., roaring conveyor belts are in full operation. Anhydrous Phosphogypsum masterbatches made from industrial solid waste phosphogypsum go through plate drawing, printing, die-cutting and assembling procedures, and are finally made into recyclable eco-friendly packaging boxes with excellent waterproof and moistureproof performance, realizing efficient resource recycling of industrial solid waste.

As a by-product of phosphate fertilizer production, phosphogypsum is transforming from an environmental burden into valuable circular resources. Mainly composed of calcium sulfate, its output keeps rising alongside the expansion of Guizhou’s phosphorus chemical industry. Driven by green and low-carbon transformation, Guizhou is accelerating the restructuring of its phosphogypsum comprehensive utilization system and fostering a multi-channel coordinated waste disposal pattern.

Wholly-owned by Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group, the company specializes in comprehensive treatment of phosphorus chemical solid waste, focusing on phosphogypsum recycling, reutilization and R&D of various green new materials. With independent core technologies, it processes waste phosphogypsum into green building materials, polymer packaging materials and other finished products, serving as a key platform for the low-carbon transformation of local phosphorus chemical industry and waste-to-resource conversion.

Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group produces around 15 million tons of new phosphogypsum annually. Against the sluggish traditional building material market, the group is speeding up the establishment of a diversified utilization system covering upgraded building materials, industrial co-production and new material application.

From Traditional Building Materials to Industrial Construction Materials

Building materials remain the fundamental way to consume phosphogypsum, which is widely used for internal partition walls and gypsum bricks. Such products feature high construction efficiency with smooth finished surfaces that require no additional plastering, greatly shortening construction cycles compared with traditional aerated bricks.

In terms of high-value utilization, Anhydrous Phosphogypsum packaging boxes have become a major breakthrough.

The business has seen remarkable market growth and rising public recognition. The products have been exported to Brisbane, Melbourne, Dubai and other overseas regions, with 120,000 boxes delivered via 9 containers. Up to over 320,000 pieces have been sold within Guizhou for agricultural products and liquor packaging, fully complying with EU and U.S. international quality standards.
