The Path to Intelligent Manufacturing Upgrade of Wengfu Jiangshan

    Stepping into the intelligent dispatching center of Wengfu Jiangshan, the panoramic production view of the 3,000-acre industrial park is fully displayed on the huge circular screen.
    Real-time data flicker constantly on the screen, and the 3D digital twin models accurately reflect every single production facility. Operators only need to click the mouse, and the real-time process parameters of the yellow phosphorus plant area several kilometers away can be clearly displayed.
    This is no scene from a sci-fi movie, but the daily operation of Wengfu Jiangshan under Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group.


    Recently, relying on the Digital and Intelligent Construction Project for New Materials and Electronic Chemicals in Weng'an County, Wengfu Jiangshan has been awarded the title of Guizhou Provincial Advanced-level Smart Factory in 2026. This is another provincial-level recognition it has gained in the field of intelligent manufacturing, following its selection as a typical case of digital transformation in Guizhou's industrial sector in December 2025.


    From Passive Response to Proactive Prevention: The Intelligent Transformation of a Factory

    As the largest ongoing phosphorus chemical project in Guizhou, Wengfu Jiangshan boasts multiple production lines covering yellow phosphorus, TCP, chlor-alkali and other products, covering an area of over 3,000 mu.
For such a large-scale chemical industrial park, traditional management modes faced prominent challenges. More than 30 independent application systems covering production, safety, equipment, quality and park management operated separately, with data scattered across different departments.
    Centered on the intelligent dispatching center, it has built a unified business engine for the industrial internet platform, interconnected over 30 business systems including production, safety, equipment and quality, and established an integrated data middle platform. The platform gathers business data categorized into 14 major types and 55 sub-types, connects 15,339 pieces of equipment and integrates group master data, thoroughly breaking down information barriers among all links.
    Managers can not only check the real-time operation status of facilities and projects, but also simulate the operation of physical factories in the virtual world via digital twin technology, realizing full visual management of production, safety and other operations on one single screen.
    The factory has shifted from passive response to proactive prevention, and from post-failure rush repairs to predictive maintenance, fully fulfilling the construction goal of realizing intelligence right after commissioning.


   Three Core Technologies Unlocking the Intelligent Code of Wengfu Jiangshan
    Wengfu Jiangshan has taken the lead in the industry to realize one-click load regulation and unattended operation. The introduction of 5G intelligent inspection robots has greatly boosted inspection efficiency and drastically reduced staff exposure time in high-risk areas.
    1. The intelligent monitoring system for rotating equipment combines vibration analysis and AI diagnosis to predict equipment abnormalities in advance, effectively cutting unplanned shutdown risks and maintenance costs.


    2. The integrated safety management and control platform integrates high-precision positioning, video AI and gas monitoring technologies, and innovatively realizes hierarchical early warning of personnel gathering risks. Its AI visual identification system can identify nine major safety hazards such as failure to wear safety helmets and unauthorized entry into restricted areas in real time. Once violations are detected, notifications will be automatically sent to responsible persons to form closed-loop management, strictly complying with the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry of Emergency Management and building a solid barrier for safe production.


    3. If the data middle platform and intelligent dispatching system form the framework of Wengfu Jiangshan, the in-depth integration of large AI models endows the factory with core intelligence.
    Wengfu Jiangshan has established a 3D digital foundation based on unified data models that runs through the whole life cycle including design, construction, delivery and operation & maintenance, gathering all engineering data from more than 50 participating construction units. All data are assigned unified unique identification codes once generated, so there is no need for repeated data entry when the project transitions from construction to operation and maintenance. All standardized data are fully stored in the digital foundation and can be called by AI models at any time.

    Furthermore, this data foundation has achieved in-depth integration with industrial large AI models.


   From Advanced-level Factory to Lighthouse Factory: Roadmap for Intelligent Upgrade
    The title of Advanced-level Smart Factory is not the end, but a new starting point.
    Sticking firmly to the strategy of intensive development of superior mineral resources, Wengfu Jiangshan will further promote high-end, intelligent and green transformation, actively participate in the formulation of industrial standards, and strive toward the goal of building a Lighthouse Factory reaching Level 4 intelligent manufacturing maturity.
    Selected jointly by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and McKinsey & Company, Lighthouse Factories represent the highest benchmark of global intelligent manufacturing, known as pace-setters in this field. Wengfu Jiangshan aims to build itself into a benchmark example leading China’s phosphorus chemical industry toward world-class intelligent manufacturing.
    This goal is backed by solid foundations. On April 2 this year, Wengfu Jiangshan officially launched China’s first global model site featuring innate intelligence in the domestic chemical industry in cooperation with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., stepping onto the global stage of intelligent construction. It has already owned complete digital and intelligent infrastructure to support further upgrading of intelligent manufacturing.
